Re-branding for CUHK(Chinese University of Hong Kong) School of Journalism and Communication.
As a leading center of communication education in the Asia-Pacific region, The School aims at training communicators with a global perspective who excel in communicative, analytical, and innovative competence. As the confluence of Eastern and Western scholarship, the School also aims to turn out communication scholars with a comparative perspective who commit themselves to the generation of knowledge with theoretical sophistication and methodological innovation.
The idea of the basic symbol is very straight forward – by merging the two Chinese character “New”(which is the first Chinese character of the word “News” and “Journalism”) and “Communication (which also mean “delivery”, “cultural heritage” and “inherited” in Chinese). We aimed to design a simple logo with a far reaching meaning – with the vision of the subject, the school aimed to pass the torch with new inspiration and fresh perspective.
